About Mick
Hi, I'm Mick Linnane, the one-man show behind The Leinster Listen.
Leinster fan from Westmeath, living in Dublin. Software engineer by day, dad of one. I try my best to give predictions for each game during the week which, thankfully not a betting man, I often get absolutely wrong! I started this podcast in October 2025 because there weren't enough Leinster-focused podcasts out there, so I decided to change that.
My story
I picked up a rugby ball at 29, a late starter. When I started rugby I played for Guinness RFC, who taught me everything I needed to know. They're all legends. But honestly I'm mostly just a fan. The kind who cares too much about lineout calls and whether Max Deegan gets a run.
The Leinster Listen is me doing the overthinking so you don't have to. Previews and reviews when Leinster are playing, Ireland games when the boys in green are out. Straight talking, a bit of a laugh, and absolutely no pretending I don't care as much as I do.
And yes, literally a one-man show. I record, edit, write show notes, build the website, and chase club interviews. It's a lot, but I wouldn't swap it.
Support the show
The Leinster Listen is a one-man operation — recording, editing, show notes, website, and club interviews. If you enjoy the podcast, buying me a coffee on Ko-fi helps keep it going.
Support on Ko-fiWhat I cover
Match previews and reviews for Leinster in the URC and Champions Cup. Ireland internationals when the boys in green are playing. And a growing club interview series visiting every senior rugby club across Leinster.
Two episodes a week when the season is in full swing: previews before the weekend, reviews after the whistle.
Ireland
When Ireland are playing, I cover that too. I love my country and I love rugby. Easy decision.
Club interview series
A long-term project to interview every senior rugby club across Leinster, from the AIL to Metro and women's leagues.
For me it's a way to talk about the club I love and the sport I love most. The listeners and the people at each club make it worth every mile.
